Amid Evil VR is a standalone VR port of the base game adapted by Indefatigable and Elijah Immersive. It was originally shown in transitions in New Blood's 2021 trailer of their current and upcoming projects, followed by the official teaser three days later. It was released on April 20th[1], 2023.

New & changed features

While AE VR stays true to its original PC release, the port includes some unique features:

Graphics

Because of technical differences between flat-screen and VR the port's graphics have been nerfed[2].

Hands

Players can see and control Champion's hands. Which is a normal thing for VR games but I had to include it because DAMN, YOU CAN FIST ENEMIES NOW.

Weapon changes

  1. Did you know Amid Evil weapons are actually 3D models turned into sprites? Well, in AE VR they were transformed back into 3D.
  2. You can hit enemies with your weapons.

New weapon wheel

Weapon wheel in AE VR has different UI and now slows down time instead of freezing it, Superhot style.

Axe's new features

  1. You can throw the Axe like a tomahawk and it will return in your hand.
  2. The Axe reflects enemy projectiles.

Planet Throw

Players can grab planets from Celestial Claw and throw them, stare at them, hit enemies with them (totally new feature) or dunk them with no height requirement or damage received from explosion.
