Just like in almost every other retro-fps game, Amid Evil has cheat codes. To use them you must type the command while playing the game (does not work when in menu or dead). The screen will flash and (in some cases) a purple message will appear on top, indicating that the cheat code worked. Most of them are written in the game's codex while others can be found either by using random words or asking people who know[1].
Some cheats can be deactivated either by typing the same command (except for those that give resources) or restarting/entering a new level.

| AETHER | Noclip mode. Allows the player to fly through anything. Does not make the player immune to AEOUCH or AESPLODE cheats. If the player types AERO while this cheat is active, flight is going to be deactivated but the player will fall through the floor into the abyss (not this one). If the player activates a flight powerup and then uses this cheat, they will get stuck in the air after the powerup runs out. | "No clipping enabled." "No clipping disabled." |

| AELMAO | Mega fast weapons. Similar to AEXTREME, but, unlike that cheat, AELMAO highly increases the speed of some weapons. Combined with AEXTREME it accelerates all weapons' swing/fire rate to absurd levels. | "Super fast weapons enabled!!!" "Super fast weapons disabled!" |

List of AEDEBUG working numpads and their commands
- 3 - removes all pickups from the level. Can't be reversed.
- 5 - locks and rotates the camera in a certain area for a short time.
- 6 - removes HUD and debug messages. Doesn't toggle, only loses effect after level restart.
- 7 - AEHIDE
- 8 - AESHOT
- 9 - AESTOP
- Divide (/) - toggles shadows.
- Multiply (*) - works like AEOUCH but deals 10 points of damage instead.
